- Nov 6, 1998: (xtt*-1.0pl00_X11R6.3_1s-1b; *=,-libfont,

- Sep 15, 1998: (xtt*-1.0_X11R6.3_1r-1a; *=,-fonts,-libfont,
-libfont-devel,xfs) created by Utsugi. Many thanks!
- Sep 12, 1998: (VFlib2-2.24.0-0.3a)
Rebuilt from Nagata's SRPM with additional patches(
ltmain.patch,
ltconfig.patch)
using a modified spec file
to allow use of freetype.
A temprorary version till an official version becomes
available.
VFlib2 is unnecessary for X-TT but useful to replace
freetype-1.0 with freetype-1.1 as required by X-TT
without breaking dependencies for applications using
previous versions of VFlib using freetype-1.0.
- Aug 24, 1998: (freetype-1.1-1a)
Built with a patch
similar to that included in the xtt06 distribution
to allow use of Dynalab fonts.

- # rpm -Uvh freetype-1.1-1a.ppc.rpm
- # rpm -Uvh VFlib2-2.24.0-0.3a.ppc.rpm
- # rpm -Uvh xtt-fonts-1.0_X11R6.3_1r-1a.ppc.rpm
- # rpm -Uvh xtt-libfont-1.0pl00_X11R6.3_1s-1b.ppc.rpm
- # rpm -Uvh xtt-1.0pl00_X11R6.3_1s-1b.ppc.rpm
At this point, you can start X and use the default English truetype fonts,
but you may probably want to replace default English truetype fonts by
some Japanese trutype fonts (generically called foobar something below) now.
Put them into /usr/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType:
- # cd /usr/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType
- # mv <somewhere>/foobar*.ttc .
- # ls foobar*.ttc
- foobargothic.ttc
- foobarmincho.ttc
- # mv fonts.dir fonts.dir.ORIG
- # cat > /usr/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType/fonts.dir
- 4
- foobar-gothic.vflib -fb-gothic-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-c-0-jisx0208.1983-0
- ai=0.3:foobar-gothic.vflib -fb-gothic-medium-i-normal--0-0-0-0-c-0-jisx0208.1983-0
- foobar-mincho.vflib -fb-mincho-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-c-0-jisx0208.1983-0
- ai=0.3:foobar-mincho.vflib -fb-mincho-medium-i-normal--0-0-0-0-c-0-jisx0208.1983-0
- ^D
Now you can start X and try the truetype fonts:
- $ xlsfonts | grep foobar
- -fb-gothic-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-c-0-jisx0208.1983-0
- -fb-mincho-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-c-0-jisx0208.1983-0
- $ xfd -fn `xlsfonts | grep fb-gothic`
