Hi Peter,

like Rene said, except for the standard ROOT examples and tutorials
we don't yet have a real contrib area. However, since more and more
code is produced for ROOT we would like to start a contrib area where
you can submit tar's containing your classes and some basic doc.

For this purpose I've created on the ROOT ftp server an incoming area
(ftp://root.cern.ch/incoming) where you can ftp your contributions.
After review they will be placed in ftp://root.cern.ch/contrib.
All contribs will be summarized on a contrib web page for easy
browsing. So the contrib procedure is:

- pack your classes in a tar.gz
- ftp to ftp://root.cern.ch/incoming
- send mail to rootdev@root.cern.ch to announce your
submission to us (with some short explanation)
- after basic review we'll place them in
ftp://root.cern.ch/incoming and update the new contrib
web page.

So let the contribs flow in!

For larger projects for which you want to keep full control you can
submit to us an URL and we'll add your page to the ROOT example
application page (http://root.cern.ch/ExApplications.html).

Cheers, Fons.
