there is a ROOT newsgroup: cern.root.
All mail to roottalk is echoed in this newsgroup. However,
mail sent to cern.news is not yet forwarded to the roottalk
list. Early next week I will migrate the roottalk list
to cern-root@listbox.cern.ch. Once that is done you can:
- read and post to the cern.root newgroup,
messages will be forwarded to the cern-root mailing list
- use the mailing list cern-root@listbox.cern.ch (goes to
all current roottalk subscribers and newsgroup cern.root)
- use (old) roottalk address: roottalk@root.cern.ch which
will forward to cern-root@listbox.cern.ch.
The mailing list rootinfo@root.cern.ch is a very low traffic
list only used by the developers to annouce new versions or
major bug fixes (all current roottalk subscribers are also
automatically on rootinfo). This is probably the mailing list
you want to stay subscribed on.
More news will follow when the this new scheme is operational.
Check in the meanwhile if your organization gets the cern.root
newsgroup.
Cheers, Fons.
