ROOT for DEC/Alpha/Unix3.2c with g++

Hi

is there anybody out there who has root running under
DEC Alpha Unix3.2c with g++ ? If not : is it possible to build it
myself ?

I cant easily upgrade to DUNIX 4.0 and apparently
the root version for 4.0 does not run correctly under
3.2c.

(e.g.
root> Tfile f("hsimple.root");
root> TCanvas c1("c1");
root> TBrowser b;

segmentation violation
