change properties of error bars

Hi,
I tried to change the properties of error bars (thickness, color)
(TGraphErrors) by clicking on the error bars in my canvas.
This doesn't seem to work. Is there another way of doing it?
Will this be installed?
I am using version 1.03/04 on DEC UNIX 4.0
