Yes, it appears that it was something of that nature. In another
header file, I had enumerated types which had no problem being
defined. I cannot pinpoint exactly how my problem disappeared, because
I was in the middle of versioning the entire distribution when your
request to re-type it came in email. But I was cleaning up all the
files in general so it is likely that I removed some hidden char that
was in the file.
It works fine without the
enum result_state; // ?????????????????
line now.
