[1] JLC Informal Meeting at JPS Fall Meeting (Miyamoto)

An informal meeting is scheduled on the 1st day of 1997 Fall
   Meeting of JPS (Sep.20-23).
Agenda includes discussions on IR, accelerator R&D,
and possibly gamma-gamma option. The items will be
decided at the next LC progress meeting.

[2] VTX R&D Status (Miyamoto)

Miyamoto presented preliminary results from the last CCD
   beam test.

Tracks were looked for by matching hits on the two layers
sandwiching the target layer. The efficiency of the target
layer was then determined by searching for a corresponding
hit in the expected region. The resultant efficiency is
in excess of 0.98: the apparent inefficiency is mostly due
to ghost tracks from accidentally matching noise hits.

In the same way, the spatial resolution has been studied.
Spatial resolutions are better than 0.5 pixels with the
help of the center of gravity method and are limited by
multiple scattering: intrinsic resolutions should be
   much better.

These preliminary results are very encouraging.
