Developer Tools on MacOS X

Apple's Standard Developer Tools

It's nice to have a developer Tools (Xcode Tools CD) distributed by Apple. You should install them for sure.

As of MacOS X Release 10.3, the default gcc compiler became gcc3.3-based. As explained in the g77 page, the source code that Apple used to build the compiler suite would cause some problem when recompiled with g77 support.

Bash

As of 10.3, bash became the default shell for users. This is a good news for linux users like me:^)
From now on, I am going to use bash uless otherwise stated.

Libcompat

# rpm -Uvh <somewhere>/Libcompat-14.1-2c.ppc.rpm

Libstreams

# rpm -Uvh <somewhere>/Libstreams-23-1c.ppc.rpm
