PROOF, the Parallel ROOT Facility, is still in the prototype phase.
I coded the classes last year as a "proof" of concept of parallel Tree
processing. The system is functional for parallel processing of 1-dim
histograms, like: tree->Draw("fX", "fY>fZ") and the demonstrated
speedup is very good. I plan to start working on it again very soon and to
implemenent it for general usage. However, this will take a few months.
If you are interested I can tell you how to get the prototype up and
running so you could play with it.
Cheers, Fons.
